After an inspiring year of violin lessons, group classes and ensemble rehearsals, it is time once again for our Katoomba studio community to tune up and make music together for Term 4.
At Rachele Wildmare’s Violin Studio in Katoomba, ensemble playing is where everything comes to life. Students who join small or large groups discover the joy of listening, blending, and feeling the pulse of shared music-making. These sessions build not only musicianship, but also confidence, focus, and connection — the true rewards of learning violin in community.
Why Ensemble Playing Matters
While ensemble participation is not compulsory, most students quickly find it to be the highlight of their term.
Playing together:
- Strengthens rhythm, intonation and musical awareness
- Encourages teamwork and creative communication
- Builds stage confidence for future performances
- Deepens appreciation of harmony and musical structure
From beginner group classes through to advanced chamber-style ensembles, every rehearsal offers a safe, encouraging space to grow.

A Supportive Path for Developing Players
Rachele’s teaching philosophy is about building strong foundations so that every student can grow into an expressive, well-set-up musician. Ensemble playing complements individual lessons beautifully — giving students real-world opportunities to apply bowing, rhythm, tone and listening skills in a collaborative setting.
The studio’s ensembles welcome beginners who are ready to branch out, intermediate players keen to refine their craft, and adult learners returning to music.
Looking Ahead
Term 4 culminates in our relaxed community concert in December — a joyful celebration of progress, teamwork and the simple pleasure of shared music. Family, friends and local supporters are warmly invited to attend.
If you are in the Blue Mountains and would love to be part of a nurturing, creative musical community, this is the perfect season to begin.
